Return & Refund Policy – El Granero Typewriter Company

1. Our Commitment

At El Granero Typewriter Company, we stand behind the quality of our products and want you to be fully satisfied with your purchase.
If you need to return an item, please contact us first — we’ll guide you through the process and provide any necessary export or customs documents.


2. Return Conditions

  • Notify us of your intent to return within 14 days of delivery.
  • Ship the item back within 14 days after notifying us.
  • Items must arrive in their original, unused condition, including packaging, manuals, warranty cards, and any accessories or gifts.
  • Refunds are issued via PayPal, Wise, Bizum, SumUp, or another agreed method once we receive and inspect the item.

3. Return Costs & Fees

  • Customers are responsible for all shipping costs both ways (fully insured via the same courier used for delivery).
  • If the original shipping was free, the return shipping cost will be invoiced.
  • A 15% restocking/administration fee will be deducted from the refund to cover handling, relisting, advertising, and administrative costs.

4. Exclusions – Items Not Eligible for Return

We cannot accept returns, cancellations, or exchanges for:

  • Made-to-order, custom-made, or limited-edition typewriters.
  • Antique or rare items.
  • Exclusive sale items, discounted purchases, or orders with coupon codes/personalised offers.
  • Personalised gifts or engraved orders.
  • Parcels are held at the courier warehouse due to the customer’s absence.
  • Reservations or partial-payment orders.
  • Digital downloads or non-physical services.

5. Refunds for Lost or Damaged Shipments

If your shipment is lost in transit or completely damaged, we will refund you once:

  • The courier has completed its inspection, and
  • The insurer has issued a final decision.

We will assist with filing the claim and keep you updated throughout the process. Refunds are only issued once the courier/insurer confirms the outcome.


6. Important Notes for Vintage Items

  • Vintage or antique machines may have minor imperfections or require last-minute adjustments during restoration. These are part of their character and not considered defects.
  • All returns must be shipped securely, with no damaged packaging and all original documents/gifts/manuals included.

7. Refund Processing Time

  • Depending on the courier and your location, returns may take 7–25 days to reach us.
  • Refunds are processed within 3–5 business days after we receive and inspect the item.
  • It may take another 3–5 business days for the funds to appear in your account.

Exchange Policy

We want you to be happy with your purchase. Please review our exchange terms carefully before making a request.


Eligibility

  • Exchanges are accepted within 14 days of delivery.
  • Items must be returned in their original, unused condition, with all gifts, accessories, and packaging.
  • Proof of purchase (order number or invoice) is required.

Shipping Costs & Fees

  • Customers are responsible for all shipping costs and any customs/taxes associated with exchanges.
  • We do not cover or split return shipping fees, as the correct item was already supplied.
  • A 15% restocking/administration fee applies to returns and exchanges to cover handling, packaging, relisting, advertising, and administrative work.

Process

  • Contact us before sending your item back. We will provide instructions and confirm the availability of the replacement.
  • Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we will process the exchange and ship the new product.

Exceptions

  • Rare antiques, personalised, or custom-made items.
  • Items damaged due to misuse or improper packaging during return shipping.
  • OUTLET products, sale items, services, and digital items.

Our Commitment

We know exchanges can feel complicated. Our team will do its best to make the process smooth.
In special cases, we may offer alternative solutions — such as preparing a replacement in advance, offering an item of similar value, or providing a store gift card.


Additional Terms

  • Cancellations: Due to advertising costs, cross-platform listings, and restocking processes, we usually cannot accept cancellations.
  • Free-of-Cost Options: In some cases, we may offer free exchanges for similar-priced items, alternative models, or gift cards.
  • Payment Security: We are not responsible for misuse of your payment method by third parties. Please ensure your accounts and devices are secure before placing an order.We will always try to help.
