According to the British Consumers' Association Report on Portable Typewriters, contained in the December 1962 edition of Which? magazine, Splendid 33 was the Best Buy because it was - "Light, small, cheap and very well made".
It was designed for Olympia Werke in Wilhelmshaven, West Germany, in the 1960s.
