The first version of the Olivetti Studio 46 Typewriter was released in 1974 and featured an aluminium body. Due to its success in offices and homes, three more versions were released from the first version up until the early 1990s. In 1977, the aluminium body was replaced by a lighter plastic one, designed for a younger clientele.
